What is a Building Permit?
A Building Permit is issued by the Building Department of a given Municipality, or by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, if the proposed Drawings, Reports and Submission Documents meet the Ontario Building Code.
Structural, Mechanical, Architectural, and Electrical Engineers are among the common Qualified Professional stamps needed to proof the Drawings for a Complete Submission, depending on the project’s scope.
Zoning is a key aspect of a Building Permit, and Sketches for Floor Areas, Elevation Heights, and Technical Site Plans can be submitted by a Consultant (e.g. Harper Dell) that helps the Zoning Examiner verify compliance with the Zoning By-Law.
Without Zoning Approval, a Building Permit cannot be issued. - hence why Harper Dell is uniquely equipped to coordinate the requirements of a Complete Submission as the Applicant and Project Manager of a Building Permit alongside Architects and Engineers of Record.
